• Follow the requirement of the word count

The word limit in essay writing is 200-300. This means the test taker has to adhere to the given guidelines. Do not write an essay with word count below 200 or go above the 300-word limit.

• In essay writing straying off the topic reduces marks, therefore, always stick to the topic as much as possible
• Take time to understand the topic of the essay. Re-define it in your own words and outline several points that support the topic.
• When summarizing the written text it is imperative to include important points in the summary. Leaving out some of the points lead to losing marks
• The structure of the summary is very important. It should have an introduction, body and conclusion. 300 words length is more than half of A4 page, therefore, make the body to be 2 paragraphs.
