Tips to answer multiple-choice: choose multiple answers
It is important to understand the content of the passage, the question and the answer options provided to be able to select correct answers. Sometimes the questions require selecting wrong answers; that is the answers that are not represented by the passage. Therefore the test taker has to be careful when reading the question.
The responses in a way are a summary of the passage. Therefore take note of the main points that give more meaning to the content and they will likely be highlighted in the answer options as well. Even if the keyword is mentioned, this doesn’t mean the answer is correct you still need to read to check whether it is right or wrong.
This point adds to the above point. When you skim and scan the answers, there will be certain words that simply stand out or become more visible than other words; these are keywords. If you start with the answer first, it will be easier to spot the same word on the passage (repeated words)
There is no specific time allocated for this section, therefore, the taker has to plan and spend time wisely. Don’t waste time on one of the answers provided; if you don’t understand it, move on to the next one. It is better to come back when you have considered other options than to spend a lot of time on just one option.
As it has been mentioned earlier, for this question, every wrong answer gets a negative mark. Be sure your answers are correct to avoid losing marks.
